  • Adult psychotherapists work with adults to assess and treat various emotional, social, or mental health issues. You'll help adults tackle problems such as behavioural issues, common challenges such as anxiety and depression, or more complex or severe issues, such as psychosis or a personality disorder diagnosis.

  • A counsellor is experienced in aiding individuals with more immediate and transient troubles, like bereavement or other circumstances. On the contrary, psychotherapists are qualified to assist their clients through long-term difficulties that may have deep psychological roots and influence various areas of life.

  • Psychologists and psychotherapists may have different approaches to their profession, yet both are dedicated professionals helping individuals lead better lives. While a psychologist might focus on the cognitive aspects of healing, a psychotherapist is more likely to stress interpersonal connections in treatment. Furthermore, many therapy specialists devote themselves specifically to issues such as marriage counseling or substance abuse recovery for even greater impact.
